Candidates for a compensation manager job may report directly to the Vice President, depending on the size of the company, analyze current or new plan designs and administrative practices for competitiveness and cost effectiveness, recommend enhancements or changes to compensation programs to improve administrative procedures, workflow efficiencies, and/or align programs to achieve company goals.
A Compensation Manager should have experience and knowledge of all elements of compensation including design of annual, long term and sales incentive plans, strong capabilities to perform base pay and total cash compensation analysis and to transform market data into meaningful information, excellent written and oral communication skills and the proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels in an organization.
Compensation Manager jobs may require education or experience equivalent to a four-year degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.
