Kay Calivas, a native of Long Island, NY, started her career in a management training program at JP Morgan Chase
Bank in New York City. She quickly worked her way up to the position of Vice President in the Securities &
Trust Division. In 1993 Kay relocated to Baltimore, MD where she joined the prominent recruiting firm of Don
Richard Associates / A.J. Burton Group as a Bank Recruiter. Within two years, Kay was appointed Manager of the
Banking Practice and shortly thereafter, established the Human Resources Practice. Kay was responsible for
building and retaining a strong client and candidate base and for the management of two practices in multiple
offices in the Baltimore - DC corridor. She has managed teams of recruiters and has a proven track record of
success. Kay spent five years as an independent consultant, providing regional training for a prominent national
search firm. In this role, she was responsible for developing and delivering training to recruiters and managers
covering the VA, MD and DC markets. She was also intricately involved in several system conversions, testing, and
software training. With ten years in the financial services industry and over fifteen years experience in the
professional recruiting arena, Kay joins Stephen James Associates as a Managing Director.
In her current role, Kay is responsible for managing the overall operation of Stephen James Associates' flagship
office. Her well rounded background in management, hands-on recruiting and training experience make her a valuable
